What's working at Wellington Elementary?
Superior Customer Service
|
Since its opening in 2011, all Wellington staff members have been trained on and have implemented Fayette County's Superior Customer Service Program. The focus of
this program is on creating respectful, positive relationships between students, parents, staff, and community members. Listed below are a few of the activities that our school implements as part of this program: Move-Up Day: Towards the end of the school-year, students and parents are informed of their teacher placement for the next year. The students get to visit their upcoming teacher and do activities to get to know them before the summer even starts. This gets the kids excited for year to come and is a great way to lower anxiety. Heart-To-Heart Visits: Over the summer, all teachers contact the parents of their students for the upcoming year to schedule a time for a home visit. These are informal visits are scheduled to accommodate parents and are an opportunity to initiate positive interactions before the school-year starts. They are an excellent way to learn about your students and build a relationship with them and their family. Parent Surveys: Parental input is extremely important and valued. Parents are given opportunities to give their input about various aspects of the school throughout the year. Positive Post Card: Something new that Wellington has started this year is sending a positive post card home to each student at least once a year to give them authentic praise for an accomplishment. Quick Return to Parent Contacts: In order to show parents that we value their time and their questions/concerns, all teachers are required to respond to emails or phone calls within 24 hours.
